This is a very exciting development for Aviation in Thailand. There is a newly created I.A.T. at Rajamangala University Campus in Bang Phra. This is the only University in Thailand with an airstrip on its campus. They are now establishing a 4 year B.S. Degree for Aviation with 4 branches under the I.A.T. Directorate -- CPL, Aviation Maintenance, Aviation Management, and Logistics. There are already 6 CPL students enrolled in the University and in June 2008, they expect to have 50 more.

Captain Mai (Jiratid Ong-Aree) -- jiratid@flyyoungeagle.com -- tel: 0814138579. Captain Mai is the Chairman of Young Eagles and Air Phoenix. He has been flying since 2000 and has 3,700 hours mostly in B200. His passion is to advance General Aviation in Thailand. Young Eagles is the only company teaching Thais and Foreigners PPL, CPL, IR flying in Thailand. Young Eagles is working closely with Rajamangala University to set up the B.S. Institute of Aviation Technology.
Dr. Amarat (Dr. Amarat Komolmas) -- amaratkomolmas@hotmail.com -- tel: 0817825166. Dr. Amarat wears two hats. He is Vice President for Academic Affairs at Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-ok and he is Acting Head of The Institute of Aviation Technology (IAT) at Rajamangala University Tawan-ok. There are currently 6 CPL students enrolled and they are expecting in June 2008 to have 50 CPL, Aircraft Maintenance (working with Young Eagles) and Aviation Management students. Kruu Tony (Wing Commander Vuthibhat Chansan) -- pcattutor2005@hotmail.com -- tel: 0818309768. Kruu Tony is in charge of Young Eagles Groundschool and is Chief Aviation Consultant for Young Eagles. He has been in the Royal Thai Air Force for 20 years and is in charge of the new model for aviation in Thailand which will offer B.S. Degree in Aviation at Rajamangala Institute of Aviation Technology. This 4 year degree is based on Embry-Riddle University in USA and will offer 4 branches under the I.A.T. directorate with B.S. degrees for CPL, Maintenance, Aviation Management and Logistics. Kruu Piya -- piya.a@chaiyo.com -- tel: 0898980052. Kruu Piya is a Captain in the Royal Thai Navy. He has been flying for 20 years with over 3,800 hours in CT4E, Fan Trainer FT600, Nomad N24A, Fokker F27, CL215, C47, T337 (O-2), B212, Buckeye T2C, A4 Skyhawk, Harrier AV8, Quicksilver, C150, C172, C206, C182, Extra 300L, King Air B200, and Eagle 150B aircraft. He has served as former Commander of Harrier Squadron and former Chief of Staff of Naval Academy Squadron. He has trained in USA and Spain. He is a father of 5 boys. His dream when he was a young boy was to fly. His philosophy is "teaching by heart and life." He loves teaching and is very happy to watch his students solo.

Kruu Ake has been flying in the Royal Thai Navy for 15 years and has 1,650 hours in CT4, PC9, T34, T2C, A4 Skyhawk and Harriers. He has been instructing for 3 years (2 military & 1 civilian). His interest in aviation began as a young boy looking at an aircraft and wondering "how this rock flies?"

Kruu Billy (Porntep Bunraksa) -- bunraksa_p@hotmail.com -- tel: 0894776371. Kruu Billy has been flying in the Royal Thai Navy for 12 years with 1,900 hours in S2F Tracker and the Dornier 228. He was originally trained for helicopter CPL at CATC in the R22 and Hiller E4 for 125 hours. He completed his conversion on the Cessna O-2 (push-pull) and has been instructing for 5 years at U-Taphao Naval Base and in Thai Flying Club. When he retires, he is planning to fly around the world.

Kruu Pop has been flying with the Royal Thai Air Force in F5-EF at Eagle Squadron in Ubon and F5-AB at Shark Squadron in Surat. He has 2,100 hours with 3 years instruction at Khampaeng Saen and 1 year at Pattaya Airpark and Young Eagles. His interests are Reading, Swimming and Meditation.
