BALI FLYING TRIP 2008
sunnyyong.yong@gmail.com
I am forwarding the emails that I have been communicating with Indonesian
side, which is headed by CHEPY NASUTION and PANITIA
with regard to BALI FLY IN. They have invited SFAT to
arrange Thai planes to attend their BALI FLY IN from
1st to 4th AUGUST 2008 at BULELENG, a tarmac (1,000
yds) airfield on the Northwest shore of BALI Island. (Denpasar
is on the southern end of Bali.) They would like to have Ultralights
to fly into Bali as it will be a showcase to present to Indonesian DCA that
small planes are capable of flying like GA planes.

Initially, subject to further changes, our plans are like this:-
1. SUNNY YONG and K. UTHAI are Organisers
for this FLY IN for SFAT;
2. Thai planes - pilots intending to join in the FLY IN to
check with SUNNY 081 -815 8002; or
K. UTHAI 081 - 445 3236 and participation forms will be
send to them. WE would like all information in by
15th May, 2008
2. Once, we have the confirmed number of participants, SFAT will organise and
check the details; arrange the letter of invitation from Indonesian DCA as
well as from Malaysian DCA permission to fly through their air spaces. With
these documents, we will approach THAI DCA for permission for U registered
planes to fly out of Thailand.
3. Arrange for International INSURANCE coverage;
4. Liase with our friends in Indonesia and Malaysia for logistic - local
transport + hotels + fuel;
5. release relevant information to all parties concerned.
At present, we are looking at 10 planes going - these being the slower
ultralights with average speed of 80 to 100 mph.
Other GA planes are welcome, but their flying schedules will be slightly
different due to their better speed. eg SUPARP going in his DIAMOND TWIN;
Charoen's HS-CCR (Piper Arrow) going; K. Bird of Sawang Dandin going in HER
Cessna 172 (Yes! An aviatress!); Eves of NOK AVIATION in his 172
retract gears.
Guys going have to be prepared for hardships! Lanaguage problems, special US
dollars required in Indonesia to buy fuel (they do not want certain years,
must be clean bills and certain serial numbers not acceptable!) CREDIT CARDS
not useable for fuel, most smaller hotels and most local resturants!!!
But for those who are adventurous - a trip to be remembered and bragging
rights assured!!
Thanks, Tom, for willing to help SFAT to organise a successful trip - the BALI
FLY IN ... Hii yaa!!!
